Dave and I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Mr. & Mrs. Nathan Thomas this morning. Beautiful, elegant and romantic are the first few words to come to mind, although none of them seem to do it justice. We are still uploading all the photos but I wanted to get just one shot…

Monthly Archives: August 2009Wow, this has been one exciting week! Guess what showed up at my doorstep today? If you read the title you already know but I just want to bask in it for a second…..YAY Gift Certificates. Real certificates on real paper. I have been wanting to make these available for a year now and yes,… show 33 comments [...] in December Lauren got together with her family and decided to purchase a gift certificate for her in-laws for [...]March 2, 2010 – 8:07 pm Hey Jessica, it’s Jessica! lol I wanted to enter to see if I could win the gift certificate and do my Trash the Dress session. I want to get all dirty! Wow this is intense! I’ll just be straightforward. My mom’s birthday is coming up and a shoot from you with my kids would provide a cool present for “Grandma”!September 3, 2009 – 12:54 pm I am guardian to a 14yr old girl who is captivated looking at life thru your lens. She looks at your shoots over and over on your blog, loves your artistic expression. Her mother was a teen model and she would love to play that role. She has many trials in her life right now, longs for the perfect family that is captured in your photography. It would be an honor and a blessing for her to be a Jessica Lorren Model…just for a day, without having the perfect family, getting married or pregnant! She was all about “trashing the wedding dress” Best Ever!September 3, 2009 – 12:24 am Oops, above post was from me not Andrea.September 2, 2009 – 11:49 pm Kelly, I am not sure if this was supposed to happen, but your posts are working and my composure is crackin. I know your motives come from the heart, your a selfless person and thats just the start. I know there are others that have written some posts, and the final decision is up to the host. If it would happen to be between you and me, you’ve got my vote, BLESS THAT FAMILY. Thanks to Jess for the fun competition, for allowing us to write our crazy renditions. May the best one win its been quite the bout, smile pretty for the camera ya’ll, I’m out.September 2, 2009 – 11:46 pm My husband lost his job in March of this year and we have been living by faith each month. I would be thrilled to win a certificate to capture these times with my family, especially in a more “artistic” way (as you do). I have an 18 month old and a 3 yr. old and would love to capture these moments and have some Christmas gifts to give to our family this year!September 2, 2009 – 11:11 pm Jess, I’m so proud of you! Your business is flourishing! Okay….soooo….hmmmmm, I don’t know how I would use the gift certificate, but I’m sure I’d come up with something cool! Jeff and I have a fifth anniversary coming up so maybe we could use it to celebrate that milestone…or maybe I’d give it as a Christmas gift….hmmmm options options!September 2, 2009 – 10:57 pm such a great idea, jess! if i won a certificate, i would use it for a session the next (and probably last) time i’m pregnant. would love to have some belly shots of me and family shots in general.September 2, 2009 – 10:15 pm I am watching my daughter turning into a lovely young woman and she and I have never had photos taken together…….this is a special year…her Senior year.that is all,not clever, just hopin’September 2, 2009 – 10:14 pm Ok, well, so….yeah, well, you know….uh…i guess, sure, yup, this would be great, ok? Hi Jess – Loved seeing you Sunday. My official entry is to take really awesome pics on our boat in the InterCoastal and maybe some on one of those islands. September 1, 2009 – 5:05 pm okay, i was going to comment and mention that it is our one year anniversary and since things were crazy when we got engaged, we didn’t do engagement pictures, but one year anniversary pictures would be nice. however, after reading the comments i have to say – first that my English teachers would be disappointed but not surprised that i’m not able to write a poem and second that i would like to use my comment to vote for Bethany & Dave to get the certificate. To be honest I looooove photography. I’m majoring in Graphic Design now but if I had the money and the beautiful talent you have I would definitely be photographing everything I saw. With the certificate I would love to buy a bunch of photos from my future engagement and wedding pictures and fill up one whole wall in Steve’s and I future home. I love to reminisce and enjoy the beauty of memories. Haikus are fun too Now please consider Jared, my friend, my reasons ARE pure. If I had the money, I’d give them MORE. But you see, Jared, money is not whats at stake. It’s the memories she’ll capture in the pictures she takes. Now Jared, I love your family of three. But there’s no one more deserving, if you ask me. Than this family I speak of, to bless with this treasure. I’d go to great lengths, whatever the measure. True organic beauty-simple, natural, real. THIS is the family. THAT is the deal I knew it would happen, it was just a matter of time* Until someone would copy, and post their “own” rhyme. Fun and creative, that was the command* I followed directions, my post wasn’t bland. Now others will realize, I may get the “treasure”* They’re worried their diddy, will fall short the measure. They’ll think and they’ll ponder, they’ll revise over and again* Jared’s got a great idea, they’ll try to use it for a win. Now Kelly you say that your reason is pure* if that is the truth and you really are sure. Then give to that family and prove its your will* Hand them your own hundred dollar bill. Now I’ve been accused of, thinking only of me* But Jess said Ok, be as selfish as you please. Just to be sure, there is no confusion* To believe I am selfish is just an illusion. This gift its important, its not just for me* Next week is my wife and I’s anniversary. If the reward is still based on originality* My plea is the same, J.L.P. shoot my family.August 29, 2009 – 4:41 pm I would love to bless my mother in law with this gift. She is a labor and delivery nurse at St Mary’s and does photography as a hobby. She has taken so many photos of my son Conner her first grandchild, but we do not have any of them together since she is always behind the camera. Lynda has been hoping to get a family shot done for a while now and I love your style and I think she would too. So simple and beautiful I think it would be an amazing gift.August 29, 2009 – 10:25 am Jared was cleaver, I’ll give him that. But his reasons were weak, and his rhyme was whack! Let me tell you, my friend, why we should win. To bless someone else, is the reason within. A family who has given so much to us. Is definitely worth, all of the fuss. Such sacrifice and love, they’re a blessing to all. And a photo by YOU would sure bless their wall. I’m typically not one to steal the scene. But this family deserves this! “You know what I mean?”August 29, 2009 – 9:33 am Now Jess, To appreciate this rhyme you need Dave to rock a beat If you know me at all, I think its easy to see Of all I’ve been blessed with, of all I’ve been given With that being said let me make something clear Now with film I’m no good, but your quite the taker The “treasure” you speak of, I’d sure like to have it Some pictures of her, some of my son too Now tell Dave to slow down, here comes the finale My mom’s 60th birthday is coming up. My whole family will be in town for it. I would love to be able to give here the gift of all her kids and grandkids in one photo. She would love it. Okay. I thought of something! Our marriage mentors…who mentored us through our pre-marital class and who continue to mentor us still today. A stay-at-home-homeschooling mom of three girls (2 of them twins). The oldest who is taking college courses at PBCC at the age of 14. The twins; two of the sweetest little prayer warriors I’ve ever met. And their Daddy who works extra hard to make it all happen; while keeping family time and his ‘girls’ top priority…always. Amazing people who Brad and I strive every day to follow! THAT is who I would bless with the gift!!!August 27, 2009 – 5:11 pm I can’t think of anyone or anything right off the top of my head. So, I would probably just hang onto it and wait for just the right moment and just the right person(s) to bless with it. Endless possibilities, I suppose!August 27, 2009 – 3:26 pm Wow a $100.00 gift certificate with the best photographer in town, what to say, what to say? Hmmmmm, I sit here at my computer trying to come up with something catchy, witty, and wonderful or a phrase that will knock your socks off, but I come up lacking. To be honest I selfishly want this for myself. My life has changed drastically since our last photo session. Life is not always what you imagine it to be as a little girl. But I know our heavenly Father has a perfect plan for each one of his children and that is more perfect then any childhood dream. I love the pictures you took of us. They are priceless. They capture memories of joy, love and happiness. Although life is very different from one year ago I have some of the best moments, which you captured, hanging on my walls. They are my treasures. My prized possessions. I would love to have a picture of my husband and I for our 10th wedding anniversary. We are in marriage ministry together, and our love for each other grows deeper with every passing year!August 27, 2009 – 3:07 pm Jess, you do such beautiful work, I would want this selfishly for myself for future events… or I have a special someone in mind to give it too… For purely selfish reasons, Jon and I would have a great excuse to come out and see you and Dave with our little people and get some absolutely fabulous pictures in the process. The time right after giving birth is not the kindest to mothers but you still want to capture this new little life and we would love to have so great pictures before we try to move overseas for only God knows how long. Maybe we could stop by on our way out of the country and they would be the perfect presents for friends and family.August 27, 2009 – 12:18 pm Jess-those look awesome! Great job! If I were to win, I would give it to my sister who is pregnant, so that she could get some belly shots done! Plus…it would give us an excuse to travel to WPB! Dave & I are celebrating our 20th anniversary… Since our wedding pictures were a huge disappointment to both of us (I still cry when I look at them!), what a gift it would be to have a sort of “do-over” for our 20 year accomplishment. …And since I’m always taking other people’s pictures, it would be such a treat to have some taken of me and my baby without a tripod! And besides, there’s no one else I would rather have shoot us than you, Jess! You’re the best:)August 27, 2009 – 11:56 am My mom has been saying for YEARS that she would LOVE a family photo of her and her four children (now plus a grandson). How I would love to surprise her with a photo session with such an amazing photographer.August 27, 2009 – 10:40 am yay! they are SO pretty!August 27, 2009 – 10:35 am I would LOVE to surprise my family (parents, 2 siblings and their spouses, and 9 nieces and nephews) with a professional photography session! This Christmas is “our year” to be together and it would be so much fun to do with all of them! We’ve never had professional pictures done as a family!August 27, 2009 – 9:19 am |
