This session was full of crazy challenges such as dark skies, pouring rain and grumpy police officers. But with the help of a gorgeous Amy, her sweet mom Charlene and my wonderful husband Dave, we pulled out all the stops and made this session a beautiful experience.

How beautiful is this girl?

Amy is an actress so she brought a long a few of her favorite toys. Girl’s got good taste!

After approximately 45 seconds with this family I was in love. Why? Well they are sweet, beautiful and they moved a sofa into the backyard for our shoot. What’s not to love?

We had a great time just letting the kids be kids and here are a few of my favorite moments from our session.

My favorite part of photographing children is how developed their distinctive personalities are, no matter how young. The things the say, the way they smile, I never cease to be amazed by their uninhibited emotion and expression. Well these two kiddos are pure personality! Audrey is a princess/big sister who is totally in love with her daddy and crazy about her little brother. Max, very appropriately called “Studly”, is the most laid back baby I’ve ever worked with. Both were so precious. Enjoy.

Evidently, princesses must have their wands if they are going to use their magic on their little brothers.

Audrey/Belle was insistent upon dancing with Beast in the castle. I don’t think the Beast minded much.

Thanks Mr. and Mrs. W. for the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the life and personality in your little ones. It was such a joy.

Apple Slices | West Palm Photographer in NYC

Last week Dave had to head up to NY for business and so we decided I needed to tag along too. While he was tied up for a couple days in White Plains, I rode the train into the city and roamed the streets with one of my favorite friends. Once Dave was done, he and I got a hotel in midtown and just soaked some of what the Big Apple has to offer. We walked a ton, ate a ton and took a ton of pics. I absolutely loved the tastes and textures we found there. I even convinced an old friend to model for a shoot! (stay tuned for shots from that sometime very soon)

Let’s talk about the M’s. They deserve some big public THANKS from me for several reasons. First, Margo contacted me nearly three months ago to book our session, so big THANKS for planning ahead. Next, they had to reschedule due to a business obligation and they let me know a month in advance! So big THANKS #2 for being so thoughtful. Then, after it poured all afternoon and didn’t seem to be letting up, I was sure we’d need to reschedule because their first choice location was the beach. Nope, they were flexible and we just went for it at an alternate location. So big THANKS #3 for going for it. So if anyone deserves an extra dose of thanks the M’s do.

Next, I should give a little preface to this post. Maybe it’s the fact that I have a very fun three-day weekend ahead, or that Dave is composing a musical masterpiece in the next room, either way I was very creatively winded tonight and decided to try some new things on these images. So let me know what you think!

Allow me to present, The M’s.

Major, the family pup joined us for the shoot because he’s sick and they want to just love on him right now.

My friends will tell you, I am terrified of dogs. But Major was so sweet and lovable that my heart did not even skip a beat.

Speaking of sweet and lovable, check out these kiddos!

Genevieve is a very pretty little girl, who just-so-happens to be a ballerina too.

Genevieve’s little bro, Erick just turned one and he is all sorts of cute. When I asked him where he got all that cute he answered me clearly in one word, “dada”.

Hilarious.

Diane’s Shower

I love being a girl. My favorite color isn’t pink and I can’t walk in heels but I do consider myself a pretty girlie girl. That’s mainly how I get away with being terrible at sports. But back to my point, I love showers. Bridal or baby, they just suck me in because it’s a time to get a little dressed up and eat gorgeous food. I have been able to do several baby showers which you can check out on the old blog, but this was my first bridal shower session and believe me betty it won’t be my last.

Diane invited me to join her and her closest girls at her mom’s house in Miami for her shower. I had way too much fun and I totally felt like part of the fam.

I really loved the emotion at the shower and sometimes I think stories are better told in black & white so enjoy these and I hope you can feel some of the warmth that I did.

Mother-Daughter shots are so sweet.

James M.

I love shaking things up and doing something a little different sometimes. Luckily, I have had several opportunities to do that lately! This special shoot was to photograph James M. for a painting his grandparents are having commissioned. So we got together at Juno Beach for a shoot to capture James and some little details that make him him!

Here are a few faves:

James greeted the passing birds and planes with a sweet hello.

The whole fam joined in for one last shot.
