My Best Friend’s Belly

My best friend Joy and her hubby Luke are expecting their first little bundle next month. Dave and I love these two (soon-to-be-three) a whole heap of a lot so we made a little Georgia pitstop on our Thanksgiving road trip to spend some time with them. We laughed and cried, and made some pictures. I couldn’t be more excited to meet Baby Dania when she’s done cooking. Oh and it’s only fair to say that I intentionally left my digital camera (and unintentionally my light meter) at home. Contax + Fuji 400H and some leftover Ilford 3200

I don’t do a whole lot of family sessions. Mainly because they can get really cheesy really quickly. But when Tiffany asked me to photograph her little family of three I knew I was in for a treat. How can a gorgeous mom, her rock star hubby and their adorable cherub be anything but? I had such a delightful time strolling through the Palm Beach Zoo photographing this trio. And I do want to add that not one digital image was captured during the “filming” of this session. Shot 100% on Fuji 400h

I just downloaded this from my latest batch on film scans and I could not be more thrilled with how they turned out. I literally HAD to stop what I was doing and share a couple of sweet Mason’s newborn images with you. I am loving film even more with every single scan. This melted away any doubt I may have had. It doesn’t get more organic than this and I am smitten.

Jena and her parents were such a joy to photograph. I was in love within the first three minutes and I haven’t stopped smiling since.

They were visiting the area from NJ and wanted some fun photos to remember their beach vacation and the adorable stage their little doll is at.
