My Best Friend’s Belly

My best friend Joy and her hubby Luke are expecting their first little bundle next month. Dave and I love these two (soon-to-be-three) a whole heap of a lot so we made a little Georgia pitstop on our Thanksgiving road trip to spend some time with them. We laughed and cried, and made some pictures. I couldn’t be more excited to meet Baby Dania when she’s done cooking. Oh and it’s only fair to say that I intentionally left my digital camera (and unintentionally my light meter) at home. Contax + Fuji 400H and some leftover Ilford 3200

Courtney and Lenny really should keep this baby-making thing going because their children are the cutest around. I have had a crush on the charming Owen for years now and sweet little Stella is nothing short of perfection. I made my way down to visit Courtney & Co. a few weeks ago and here are a few of my favorite snaps from our shoot. Shot both on film and digitally.

Jeremy and his sweet wife Anna have been friends of our for a while now and we are so excited for the arrival of their first baby boy. They haven’t settled on a name yet but they are planning on welcoming him home with a sailboat-themed nursery so we decided the sea was the perfect spot for their little soon-to-be session.

You read it right folks, my first round of mini sessions.

Since I absolutely love maternity sessions and everyone I know is pregnant I felt like a day of minis was in order.

So that’s what I’m doing. Mini-sessions on September 19th. Location TBD. (Definitely someplace in the West Palm/Jupiter area)

There are only ten slots and although it’s not limited to expecting mommies, that’s who this is all about so they will get the first opportunities. They are on a bit of a deadline you know…

Thus, booking for mommies is now open and booking for everyone else will open Thursday the 4th on a first-come first-serve basis.

Each session will last 30 minutes and includes the digital files for $175.

For me Lena and Carlos’ session was like my belly shoot wish list delivered to my door step wrapped in a bow.
I’ve always loved maternity sessions but these two took it to the next level for me. They were so beautiful together and totally up for anything.
Working with clients who know and trust your style makes all the difference in the world.
We started at the beach and had some dreamy light to play with before heading to a few other Palm Beach locales for the rest of the session.
Lena and Carlos were everything I’d ever want in clients and I still can’t get over how unbelievably gorgeous she is.

This little Bible is one of Lena’s special gifts for her baby boy.

Baby Christian’s nursery has a jungle theme so we did a few to go along with the room’s decor.

It’s been too long since my friend and JLP assistant Kelly B. has graced my blog.

She is expecting baby #2 and today was the big day that she and Brad found out the baby’s gender.

I convinced her to come straight to my house from her dr. so we could shoot a few fun family shots to use for the big announcement!

Drumroll…..

Now if they could just decide on a name…

Jeff and Suzanne are going to be wonderful parents.

They are totally in love with each other and laughed their way through our shoot. It was pretty obvious that they couldn’t be happier together or more excited about their little miracle.

J&S are huge Penn State Fans so they’ve been keeping this storybook for years to read to their little one.

Suzanne told me that she carries this hankie with her to all of her Dr. appointments as a little trinket of faith.

Isn’t she glowing?!

{Pam & Ryan} Baby Belly | Nashville Maternity Photography

I feel gleefully lucky that I got to do this shoot. Mainly because Pam & Ryan Monaghan are sweet, gorgeous and full of excitement for Baby Wyndham’s arrival, but also because we had some breathtaking fall light going on in their beautiful backyard. They probably thought I was nuts but we just don’t get these colors in FL so of course I’d freak out. BIG thanks to them for being so amazing and fun and to Melissa for tagging along and being a fabulous assistant!

I’d also like to give a big thanks to the fabulous Susan Stripling for showing me the light and teaching me how to use it!
