Gillian & David’s Palm Beach Engagement Session

Well folks, it just doesnt get a whole lot cuter than these two. I could have seriously photographed these two for hours. As it was, I definitely overshot this session but I could not contain myself. The cuteness just took over. Even just deciding which ones to blog was a bit overwhelming. Gillian and David brought along so many fun items to stage their shoot based around their holiday season wedding this year at The Powel Crosley Estate. I will keep some of those a secret but for now, take a gander at this cute-overload. All film.

Ray & Jen’s New Orleans Engagement in The French Quarter

The Ray & Jen Engagement Adventures continue with the latest session from New Orleans, Louisiana. We hopped up there to stroll the streets of the French Quarter and shoot some of Jen’s old stomping grounds. It was a super laid-back session and here are a few of my favorites, all film.

Jen & Ray’s Maui Engagement Sessions

I don’t know many people who soak up life the way Jen & Ray do. Their love for travel and adventurous spirits landed us half way across the globe in Maui for their engagement session. These lovebirds live here in South Florida but had just returned from vacationing in Maui when they decided it was a perfect place to return to for their shoot. A week later, I got an email and a week after that we were on a plane. I obviously have dozens and dozens of photos from the trip but here are a few from our sessions. Jared & Natalie’s Houseboat Engagement Session

I ended this shoot even more in love with my job than when I started it. Jared & Natalie are perfection. They are completely in love, so much fun and truly beautiful people. Throw a houseboat and some film into the mix and you have a perfect session. Enjoy!

Peter & Suma’s Newlywed Session in Palm Beach

These newlyweds came all the way from Southern California to celebrate their Cali wedding with their East Coast friends and family. Lucky for me, Suma’s mom contacted me to photograph the event. Sadly, I was booked, but I did manage to squeeze in a session with the charming couple while they were in town. We had a great time shooting at The Breakers and near The Flagler Museum on Palm Beach. Their first outfits were traditional Hindu wedding attire and I was rather mesmerized by Suma’s gracefulness in her Sari. Peter looked pretty good too. This was my first portrait session shot mainly on film and I am pretty pleased with the results. Only three of the images in this post are shot digitally, can you tell which ones?

Lauren & Kyle’s Secret Garden Inspired Engagement Session

Wondering how to inspire your wedding photographer and make her fall in love with you and your fiance: Do what Lauren & Kyle did.

I don’t mean a secret garden inspired shoot but I do mean get creative. Think of ways to bring in elements that tell a story and show who you are as a couple.

Just read what Lauren said about her shoot, “I knew instantly that I wanted our photos to evoke a secret garden feel—which is also one of my favorite books. Kyle and I live in such a beautiful area—with the perfect backdrop for photos moments from home. Our session took place early in the morning, in a garden on a nearby Island, underneath a canopy of banyan trees. It was all very romantic and magical which made the photo shoot even more of an experience for the two of us. Putting together the props and picking out our outfits was a labor of love. Kyle was dressed in J.Crew and I was in vintage dresses, with a necklace I made myself. The props used were selected from local consignment shops, yard sales, eBay and also from home like the foliage that I wrapped around the chairs and table with. For a personal touch I added one of my grandmother’s vintage teacups.”

How could you not love them after that? I was overwhelmed with inspiration and left feeling like I was the luckiest photographer in the world. Well I still kind-of think that…
