As I mentioned in the longest post of all time I am striving to be intentional about shooting for fun. It is what ignited my love for photos so I think it’s imperative in keeping the passion burning.

I said that my primary medium for that was going to be film but until I get that up and rolling I have been finding ways to challenge myself with my digital arsenal.

While I was in Vegas last month for WPPI we rented a car and drove out to Red Rock to get some clean air and just play.

I challenged myself to create compositions with no people in them and to manually focus each frame. Both things I rarely do.

My friend and I shared a camera so I am just now getting these posted. Enjoy!

From the very first email I received from Kate I knew we were meant to be. That email also clued me in that she and Paul were truly meant to be!

After getting to know them through their engagement and wedding day, I could not be more convinced of the two above statements. Kate’s warmth and charm make her easily one of the most lovable people I know. Paul, with his cool, calm and collected demeanor is the perfect match for darling Kate. Together they are all smiles and of course I was too. My cheek’s hurt just thinking about it.

After two fabulous engagement sessions, the wedding day arrived. Kate had carefully planned her big day with even the smallest details considered. However, when the day came her mind and heart were completely centered on her groom. I loved hearing her giggle and watching her smile at the thought of meeting her handsome Paul at the end of the aisle. Throughout every part of the day, the excitement they shared bubbled over into a contagious joy that I’m lucky to have witnessed. I hope you will feel it too as you scroll through these wedding day glimpses.

Kate & Paul’s Wedding Day involved some seriously fabulous details and people so get ready!

From Kate, “My bouquet was wrapped in a handkerchief and Rosary that belonged to my Nana – Barbara McKenzie Benz, my mother’s mother – who was the most incredible woman in the world. She passed away last year, just shy of her 60th wedding anniversary with my Bapa. They had a lifelong happy marriage, 6 children, almost 30 grandchildren, and countless adventures together. I’ve always prayed for a marriage like my Nana had, and I knew that she was with me as I walked down the aisle towards Paul.”

Last month I had my first-ever opportunity to spend the night in NYC in some place other than a hotel.

There is nothing wrong with a hotel but I was excited to actually stay with a friend and get a teeny tiny taste of what life is like living there.

The ultra-lovely Emily Collins opened up her apartment to me and even showed me around her little corner of Brooklyn while I was there.

I somehow managed to convince her to allow me to photograph her for a little while during our adventure.

Here is a bit of what I saw.

I secretly wish I had red hair. Exactly like Emily’s. Swoon.

Alex & Jon are tying the knot in April and since they grew up with Disney World in their backyard they felt it was the perfect spot for their engagement session.

Adam & Maggy win the award for most thought-out engagement session. These two planned, shopped, booked, researched and traveled to make this shoot a reality. We had so much fun galavanting around Manhattan and I know their wedding day will be just as exciting.

Adam is a New Yorker and Maggy, a Florida girl so since they’re long distance, an element of travel was a must-have for their story.

These cute “I Do” mugs were an engagement gift from Adam’s twin sister.

The shot below was inside an accidental vegan chocolate cafe. We had no idea our cheese platter was actually algae and cashews.

This is a big day for me.

Jessica Lorren Photography now has a website to call her own. It has been a long time coming but now it’s here and I am just giddy.
