When your passion, career and life are all tangled up into one it’s easy to get discouraged when even tiny things don’t go as you’d hope. It’s natural to question if the blood, sweat and tears are actually worth it. There are some days when I find myself in that place, wondering.

And then there are some days when I know the answer.

I can’t look at this image without tears in my eyes. This image is what life is all about, what art is all about and why it really is all so worth it.

This comment brought it all home for me yesterday, “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. To be able to see such beautiful photos of our new granddaughter so quickly is such a blessing!”

This family is so near and dear to my heart and to be present for this moment in their lives has left me feeling tremendously humbled in awe of the blessing I’ve been given.

My best friend Kelly gave birth to a perfect baby girl today.

I fell in love with her first daughter instantly so I made sure I was in Nashville when this one arrived.

Eisley Mae Donehey is my Best Baby Friend Forever. Her momma Kelly is one of my BFF’s so that makes her my BBFF. Got it? Good.

I am head over heels for this little lady. I felt like the luckiest girl ever that I got to see her twice in June.

Once when her Daddy, Mike was down here singing in a wedding and next when I was in Nashville for my sister Melissa’s wedding.

So naturally I was a little snap happy with my BBFF and BFF.

This is the face of love.

And this is a bit unusual but the rest of these are in Black and White because they just seem so much sweeter that way.

These are from our trip up to Nashville. Uncle Dave was holding Eisley and she was a.o.k with it.

Although Daddy’s not too bad either.

These next two were shot by Shannon and I love them.

So as you may expect, I have been snapping like crazy with my favorite baby girl around. Tenth Ave is in town for a show so I am in Kelly/Eisley Heaven!

We did a mini family session today and plan to take lots of pictures tomorrow but here’s one that Kelly and I loved from our walk with Mike and Dave this morning.

I fell in love in Nashville. With a baby girl named Eisley Mae. Her mommy Kelly and I were roommates in college and have been best friends ever since. So when she entered the world on October 2nd I couldn’t wait to get up for a visit. As soon as I saw her I cried. Crying isn’t usually my thing but she is so perfectly incredible that I had no defense.

It was a really emotional weekend for me because it was one of the rare times all four roommates are able to get together and then you throw a beautiful newborn baby girl into the mix and I’m just toast.

We didn’t do an official newborn session since her Daddy’s band Tenth Avenue North was on the road but we did have some great girl time and I made sure to take a ton of pics anyway.
